Danielle is a multi-award-winning choreographer, director and performer of dance theatre whose work has been performed across Australia and throughout the world. She creates new work for festivals, theatre, major events, opera, and film, alongside site-specific and community work. Danielle is currently Artistic Director of Force Majeure dance theatre based in Sydney.
She has worked for companies such as Sydney Theatre Company, Belvoir, Black Swan State Theatre Company, Perth Theatre Company, Night Train Productions, Steamworks Arts Productions, Dwhani Dance Company (India), Barking Gecko Theatre Company, Monkey Baa Theatre, Pinchgut Opera and Aquarius Films. After graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts and relocating to Perth as a company dancer for 2 Dance Plus, she was appointed Artistic Director of Steps Youth Dance Company.
Danielle creates new Australian work through storytelling that reaches audiences by exploring themes and issues relevant to contemporary culture; reflecting, embracing and challenging community attitudes and ideals.
Her work has attracted many awards including 4 West Australian Dance Awards and 2 Blue Room Theatre Awards as well as numerous award nominations. Danielle was nominated for a Helpmann Award and won an Equity Guild Award for DRIVING INTO WALLS (Barking Gecko/Perth International Festival) which toured to Sydney Opera House. She won a West Australian Dance Award for Outstanding Female Performer for WISH (Night Train Productions).
Recent film and television work includes movement director on THE UNLISTED and BERLIN SYNDROME for Aquarius Films. She was intimacy coordinator on THE OTHER GUY for Stan/Aquarius Films, SERIOUSLY RED for Dollhouse Pictures and BUMP for Roadshow/Rough Diamond.
For Force Majeure, Danielle created YOU ANIMAL, YOU which premiered at Sydney Festival, was nominated for numerous awards and was remounted at Dance Massive; and FLOCK for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Arts Festival. Danielle directed MASTERS OF MODERN SOUND (Force Majeure and Art Gallery of New South Wales) for Sydney Festival. She is currently creating her new work LAST SEASON for Force Majeure which premieres at Sydney Festival in 2021.
