Geordie is one of Australia’s leading theatre and music theatre directors.
Geordie was the Artistic Director and Co-CEO of State Theatre Company South Australia from 2012- 2019, the youngest ever appointee to the position. During his tenure he more than doubled the Company’s activity and oversaw its first three international tours.
Recognised for bringing multiple award-winning new works to the mainstage, Geordie has directed work throughout Australia, the UK and Asia for companies including: Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre, State Theatre Company South Australia, Belvoir, Malthouse Theatre, Frantic Assembly, and Lyric Hammersmith.
His award-winning work has appeared in the Adelaide Festival, MONA FOMA, Midsumma Festival, Daegu International Musicals Festival and the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. One of Geordie’s latest productions for Frantic Assembly and the Lyric Hammersmith, THINGS I KNOW TO BE TRUE, recently enjoyed a return four-month, sell-out season in the UK.

Geordie’s productions have won Helpmann, Greenroom, Sydney Critics Circle, Adelaide Critics Circle and Curtain Call awards and appeared in festivals including MONA FOMA, Midsumma, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the Adelaide International Festival of the Arts.
A graduate of Flinders University Drama Centre, Geordie has also worked as a dramaturg, teacher, event director, touring director and curator for organisations including the Adelaide Festival, The National Play Festival, Australian Theatre for Young People, Schott Studio - Berlin, Australian Fashion Week, Queensland Theatre Company, National Theatre (UK) and the Edinburgh Festival.
