Matt Zeremes is an award-winning writer and director, with over two decades of experience creating stories on screens, stages and in books. He cut his teeth as an independent film maker, self-financing his own stories and garnering success at international festivals such as Tribeca.
Matt is the co-creator, executive producer, writer, director, and showrunner on the AACTA nominated kids comedy series SPOOKY FILES for ABCME and BBC, which he also acts in. Spooky Files is produced by TAP (Tony Ayres Productions) and Megaboom Pictures, and is now in its second season.
Matt co-created, wrote, acted in and was a director on the Emmy® award winning, and twice Emmy® nominated, live action-comedy series HARDBALL. Hardball was produced by Northern Pictures for ABCME. It played for 23 episodes over 2 seasons, and won multiple international awards including Best Children’s Fiction Program at the Prix Jeunesse International Awards, BANFF Rockies, The Remis, Japan Prize. Hardball can be seen on CBBC (UK), France Televisions (France), NRK (Norway), RTE (Ireland), TVO (Canada), TVB (Hong Kong), SABC (South Africa) and more.
Matt co-wrote the critically acclaimed kids book series’ ZOO CREW, published by Scholastic, and ZOMBIE DIARIES, published by Hardie Grant. ZOMBIE DIARIES has been translated into 9 languages.
He has made three independent feature films which have screened at multiple film festivals including Tribeca Film Festival, Toronto Inside Out Film Festival and Sydney Film Festival. He has multiple short films that were finalists at Tropfest Film Festival, and have amassed over 10,000 views online.
For the past 9 years Matt has written, directed and produced the NIDA third year graduate showreels. He has worked with leading creative producers, both locally and internationally, and currently has projects in development.
