Mary is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and dramaturg based in Sydney.
Her work has toured nationally and was selected for the hotINK play Festival in New York. Her most notable credit is THE DAPTO CHASER, which has had four productions, the most recent being in the 2026 Ensemble Season. Australian Theatre Live filmed the Griffin/Apocalypse production, which was screened nationally at Dendy Cinemas and on ABC TV.

Mary’s TV credits include:THE ELEGANT GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO KNIFE FIGHTING (ABC); HOME AND AWAY (Channel 7); THE DAPTO CHASER (ABC TV and Dendy Cinemas).
Her work has been recognised with an AGWIE Award, and she is the inaugural recipient of The Suzie Miller Fellowship​. Other awards include The Lysicrates Prize, The Rodney Seaborn Award, The Max Afford Award, and The Griffin Award. ​Mary has also been recognised in the prize pool for The Shane and Cathryn Brennan Prize.

When she is not writing, Mary works as a dramaturg and script assessor for the Australian Writers Guild and NIDA admissions. She also teaches writing at NIDA and heads up the playwrights’ course at the Old Fitz Theatre.
