Craig Wilkinson APDG is an award-winning video designer for live performance and the creative director of optikal bloc.
 
His video design work has toured extensively across Australia and internationally to Hong Kong, UK, North America, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.
 
Selected live performance video design works include: DRACULA (Sydney Theatre Company) and  remounted on the West End in 2026 starring Cynthia Erivo; the stage adaptation of Mac Porter’s award winning novel GRIEF IS THE THING WITH FEATHERS (Belvoir Theatre); the record-breaking stage adaption of Trent Dalton’s novel BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE, and the follow-up adaptation of LOVE STORIES (Queensland Theatre / Brisbane Festival / QPAC); the world premiere of ROUND THE TWIST THE MUSICAL (Queensland Theatre Company / QPAC); and the critically acclaimed ROALD DAHL’S FANTASTIC MR FOX (shake & stir theatre co / QPAC).

Craig is an accredited member of the Australian Production Design Guild, a seasonal lecturer in Live Performance Video Design at the Queensland University of Technology since 2015 and was a recipient of a Brisbane City Council Lord Mayor’s Creative Fellowship in 2022.
 
As a video producer, Craig has created video marketing campaigns for companies such as Sydney Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre, shake & stir theatre co, La Boite Theatre and Brisbane Festival.
 
Craigs work has received four Australian Production Design Guild ─ Video Design for a Live Performance or Event Awards for DRACULA, BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE, AVOIDABLE PERILS, and FIRST CASUALTY; four Matilda Award’s ─ Video Design for BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE, ROALD DAHL’S FANTASTIC MR FOX and A CHRISTMAS CAROL; a Matilda Award ─ Gold Matilda, Body of Work PALE BLUE DOT, THE MOUNTAINTOP, WUTHERING HEIGHTS, GASP!, 1984; A Sydney Theatre Award for Best Video Design for DRACULA; Adelaide Fringe’s John Chataway Innovation Award for TERROR AUSTRALIS; an Australian Production Design Guild award for Best Stage Design of a Mainstage Production for GRIEF IS THE THING WITH FEATHERS (with Jon Weber, Nick Schlieper and Simon Phillips), and a nomination for Best Video Design for THE MYSTERY OF THE VALKYRIE.
